Is there anything I should do to prepare for my new prosthesis?
Depending on how long ago your amputation was, you may need to work at preparing your residual limb for myoelectric control. Getting the muscles in your arms strong and robust is helpful. Your clinicians may recommend a pre-prosthetic, home exercise regimen, so you can develop good perception and repeatability of your intended motions. This will also help to keep your muscles from getting tired quickly when using your new prosthesis.
