FAQs

How long will it take me to master using my prosthesis?

Every individual is different, which is why Coapt allows you to personalize your prosthesis. Our Complete Control modules and apps help streamline the process and make it as effortless as possible, but you should still expect a learning curve before it feels natural.

Is there anything I should do to prepare for my new prosthesis?

Depending on how long ago your amputation was, you may need to work at preparing your residual limb for myoelectric control. Getting the muscles in your arms strong and robust is helpful. Your clinicians may recommend a pre-prosthetic, home exercise regimen, so you can develop good perception and repeatability of your arm motions. This will also help to keep your muscles from getting tired quickly when using your new prosthesis.

What can I expect in terms of maintenance?

Coapt is only one piece of your prosthesis, so having a great relationship with your prosthetist ensures that everything fits well and is in good working order.
